Bulgarian talent Ivan Ivanov topped International Tennis Federation's World Tennis Tour Junior Rankings on Monday after he became the second-ever male representative of this country to win juniors Grand Slam trophy. He triumphed at Wimbledon without losing a set - Bulgaria's first champion in All England Club since Grigor Dimitrov claimed the juniors title in 2008.
Before Monday, Dimitrov was Bulgaria's only No. 1 junior in the world with Todor Enev reaching No. 2 behind Andy Roddick in 2000 - the American later won the men's US Open in 2003 which led him to the top of the men's rankings as well.
Ivanov's strong performance in London led him to the first place in the rankings and secured him a spot at the qualifications of next year's Wimbledon singles tournament. He made his professional debut in 2023 but the highest level he's played at so far is ATP Challenger competitions.
The top 5 features another Bulgarian - Alexander Vasilev is fourth. He also reached the Wimbledon juniors semifinals but lost in three sets to American Ronit Karki.
Ranked at fifth place is American Benjamin Willwerth whose mother is Bulgarian.
