Speaking here on Tuesday, Bulgarian artist Stanislav Trifonov, also known as Nasimo, said that his eighth solo exhibition, Over The Wall, which will be on view in the underpass of the National Palace of Culture from October 1 to 15, explores how human beings gradually evolve. "I am a seeker, and since I am constantly searching, I began to pursue what I feel like doing. These seven new works explore how human beings gradually evolve," he said at a press conference at the Bulgarian News Agency National Press Club in Sofia ahead of the opening of the exhibition.
The exhibition will present 26 works, including his seven new paintings, Nasimo said. It will also be accompanied by a book that follows the same concept, structured into seven chapters.
He noted that he first conceived the project years ago, but only recently found the right partners to bring it to life.
PR specialist Angelina Angelova described Nasimo as "a true pioneer and visionary in contemporary art," adding that he is "a man who has turned the streets into his gallery." She said that, for the first time, so many of his works will be displayed together in one place, with the National Palace of Culture underpass transformed into a lovely gallery space.
Nasimo was born in 1979 in Targovishte and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. He began creating graffiti and murals in 1995. His works can be seen in Bulgaria and abroad, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Canada, Russia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo, Turkiye, India, and China - some painted on the facades of multi-storey buildings.
