Veliko Tarnovo University Hosts 48th International Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language, Culture from July 14 to August 3

Veliko Tarnovo University will host the 48th International Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture from July 14 to August 3, the university's press centre said on Thursday.

93 participants from 34 countries are expected to participate, with the largest number coming from Greece, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The majority of the seminar guests are students, as well as PhD students, university lecturers and teachers.

The participants will be accommodated and will use the student canteens and student dormitories. During the period, they will have daily classes in practical Bulgarian language at the three levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The classes also include phonetic, grammatical and lexical exercises, as well as specialized seminars, including History and Culture of Bulgaria, Culture and Art of Bulgaria, Traditional Mythological Representations of the Bulgarian People, Contemporary Bulgarian Cinema and Bulgarian Literature.

Two excursions are planned within the framework of the format, namely to Arbanassi and Tryavna. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet Bulgarian writer Zdravka Evtimova, who will be a guest of the seminar. From July 31 to August 3, participants will visit the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, where they will have the opportunity to get acquainted with some of its sights.
