site.btaVezhdi Rashidov Presents Beethoven Bronze Masks and Drawings

An exhibition named Beethoven – Masks by prominent sculptor Vezhdi Rashidov, presenting twenty bronze masks and nine drawings depicting Beethoven, is opening on May 14 at the Vejdi Art Gallery, organizers said on Wednesday.

The artworks are part of a series of over 60 masks sculpted by Rashidov over the years. In 1988, with the Beethoven masks, the artist won the award for Best Foreign Artist at Art Dialogue in Paris. One of the masks is part of the Vatican Museum’s collection, while another 12 Beethoven masks are included in the Palma de Mallorca sculpture park alongside works by Joan Miró, Picasso, Zao Wou-Ki, Kandinsky, Chillida, and others.
