Ardino Municipality Mayor Eng. Izet Shaban lifted the partial state of emergency declared on January 27 in the Municipality of Ardino, the municipal administration’s press centre said on Wednesday.
The state of emergency was declared on Tuesday after heavy rainfall caused flooding at a reinforced concrete bridge near the village of Kitnitsa, which serves as the sole transport link to a total of six villages. After water levels receded, passage across the bridge became possible again, and access to the affected settlements has been fully restored, the administration said.
The bridge is of key importance for transport connectivity and for the normal daily life of residents in the six villages.
