Customs officers discovered and seized 13 rigid-sided inflatable boats at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, the press centre of the Svilengrad Customs Agency said on Friday.

The inflatable boats were uncovered in a semi-trailer tractor with a Turkish registration, driven by a Turkish citizen, who attempted to illegally transport the vessels on the incoming route from Turkiye to Bulgaria.

A report was drawn up against the driver under the Customs Act for attempting to transport goods across the state border without the knowledge and permission of the customs authorities.

The Customs Agency recalled that in June, another 11 rigid-sided inflatable boats were found during an inspection at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint in a truck transporting groupage goods from Turkiye through Bulgaria to the UK.
