site.btaTurkmen Woman Wanted by Interpol Moscow Detained in Varna

National Police General Directorate officers have detained a 67-year-old woman from Turkmenistan wanted by Interpol Moscow, the Directorate said on its website on Friday. The arrest was carried out in the framework of a specialized operation. The woman was detained for up to 24 hours.

The Turkmen citizen was declared internationally wanted with a request for extradition in connection with an ongoing investigation against her for fraud of particularly large proportions - more than EUR 11 million.

The woman was found hiding in Varna. The Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office has been informed and an extradition procedure has been launched, the statement said.
