A military police exercise with international participation BEYOND HORIZON 25 is taking place on May 12-21 at the Novo Selo Training Area (Southeast Bulgaria), the Defence Ministry said here on Monday. Military police from Bulgaria and eight NATO partner countries - Canada, Czechia, Spain, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania and the US, as well as from the NATO Multinational Battle Group in Bulgaria, are taking part.

The Military Police Directorate is organizing the event. It will be officially opened on May 13 by Military Police Director Brigadier General Ivaylo Sotirov.

On the Bulgarian side, more than 100 servicemen are participating in the exercise, including military police officers from the five regional structures of the Military Police Directorate, teams from the Military Medical Academy and a crew and aircraft from the Air Force.

In the course of the exercise, the full spectrum of military police activities will be exercised, including security activities, policing functions, ensuring movement of forces, apprehension of persons and operations to restore security and public order. Aeromedical evacuation operations will be trained jointly with the certified module from the Military Medical Academy and the Air Force.

In connection with the exercise, the redeployment of Bulgarian and allied personnel and military equipment along the republican road network is expected during this period. They will be escorted by the Military Police Directorate.
