Meeting on Thursday Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak discussed advancing bilateral cooperation in the fight against illegal migration.
The meeting took place within the framework of the second European Political Community Summit in Moldova, which brings together leaders from all over Europe. The two made a joint statement after the meeting.
President Radev and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed that Bulgaria and the UK will continue to work to strengthen the cooperation to counter organized crime, linked to illegal migration, criminal networks and specialized equipment, used to facilitate illegal human trafficking. The two leaders reconfirmed the need for solidarity, multinational solutions and joint efforts to protect European borders.
