Outgoing Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev hosted the traditional reception for the diplomatic corps on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Georgiev's Ministry said on Facebook.

In his address, he highlighted key foreign policy achievements of Bulgaria, including full integration into the Schengen area as of January 1, 2025, and the country’s forthcoming accession to the euro area on January 1, 2026.

Georgiev also underlined the deepening of the strategic partnership with the United States, as well as Bulgaria’s commitment to efforts for peace in Ukraine and to achieving a sustainable solution in the Middle East. He concluded by extending holiday wishes for peace, security and prosperity.
