The Crete Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 5, in the village of Arkalochori near Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete, celebrating a decade since the inaugural race. The event will feature a variety of road races for participants of all ages and abilities, the organizers of the event said.

The main half marathon, covering 21.1 km, is scheduled to start at 9:10 a.m., preceded by a 10 km race at 8:50 a.m. and a 5 km race at 12:10 p.m. Children will compete in a 1 km race, while a 200-meter race has been organised for athletes with disabilities. The Crete Half Marathon has grown in popularity in recent years, attracting over 6,000 participants at the last edition, including runners from Greece and 54 countries worldwide. Along the route, dozens of musical spots will provide entertainment for participants, and following the award ceremony, athletes and spectators can join the traditional Cretan Festival celebrating local culture, music, and cuisine.
