For the third day running, employees of Parks and Greenery company and its subsidiaries Florakom and Luna have been protesting over delays of their August salaries by blocking several junctions in Skopje on Thursday.
Speaking to the media, Stojanche Kashikovski, the chair of the Parks and Greenery trade union, said that the August salaries of employees in the main company had been paid following Wednesday’s protests. However, employees in the two subsidiaries have not yet received their August salaries, which had to be paid by September 15. Since October 1, the approximately 70 employees of the two subsidiaries have lost their health insurance.
Kashikovski expressed his hope that the remaining employees would receive their salaries by the end of the day. If this does not happen, the protests will continue into the following days. The protesters closed one of Skopje's main boulevards for two hours, causing traffic jams in the capital of North Macedonia.
