The number of foreign tourists visiting Pamporovo has risen by about 8–10% this ski season, Stefan Prisadov, Executive Director of Pamporovo AD, told the Bulgarian News Agency. The resort is currently operating at full capacity, with high hotel occupancy rates expected to continue into the first weeks of March, he added.
There has been an increase in visits by holidaymakers from Serbia, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkiye, Israel, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Prisadov described the return of Israeli tourists as good news. Early enquiries for next winter are coming mainly from the UK, Ireland and Israel.
Despite weather-related challenges, the season has been going well, Prisadov said. The Pamporovo–Mechi Chal ski area has offered excellent conditions throughout the winter, even amid rapidly shifting weather patterns marked by cold snaps, sudden warm spells and rainfall. Prisadov expects the ski season as a whole to deliver positive results. Due to the unpredictable weather, it is still too early to say exactly when the ski season will end. The resort’s management hopes conditions will remain favourable until Easter, though the closing date will depend on how the weather develops.
