The Republic of North Macedonia is ready to provide support in dealing with the aftermath of the floods, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev announced in a post on X on Saturday night, following a phone conversation with his counterpart Gordana Siljanovska.

“I thank President Gordana Siljanovska for the constructive phone conversation and for the condolences expressed for the victims of the floods in Bulgaria, as well as for the stated readiness to assist in managing the consequences of the disaster,” the Bulgarian head of State wrote.

Heavy rains and flooding on Friday affected several regions of the country, leaving parts of the population without electricity and limiting access to the hardest-hit areas. The floods have claimed four lives. Emergency and recovery efforts are ongoing, with volunteers, social service teams and military personnel working to clear roads, ensure public safety, and restore normal life.
