Yordanka Chobanova, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, said during the launch of the National Information Campaign on the Introduction of the Euro, which took place on Tuesday in Burgas, that the euro has transformative power, and that joining the eurozone is a strategic investment, just as Bulgaria's accession to the EU was 18 years ago.

She noted that there are 341 million people using the euro today, which is the second most powerful currency in the world, a symbol of European unity, and a source of economic growth. The head of the EC Representation in Bulgaria pointed out that Bulgaria will join the euro area at a time of record high public confidence in the euro area at 83%.

"The euro is more stable than ever, and our country, linked to the single market and the common currency, will be stronger and will earn more," she said. Chobanova underscored that the experience of countries that have already adopted the euro is clear - the benefits are lasting and the risks are minimal. She gave the example of Slovakia, which, in her words, has become "the automotive tiger of the High Tatras, while the Baltic states are seeing significant investment in the digital sector."

The euro gives confidence to businesses and investors, making the country stable for development, Yordanka Chobanova added.

"Our message to Bulgarian citizens is to show will, wisdom, and courage, not to succumb to manipulation and conspiracy theories, but to trust common sense and expert knowledge," she said.
