In October, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. “This year we received 20 nominations from 11 different countries. It is time to present the inspiring women,” the EABA said.

In 2009, Zlata of Meglen was elected the heavenly intercessor of Bulgarians abroad. The then State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, under chair Raina Mandzhukova, established the Bulgarian Woman of the Year award in the name of the saint, which was presented for the first time in 2010.

BTA will present the 20 nominations for the 2025 award in a series of publications.
