site.btaBNB Releases Copper Commemorative Coin in Honour of Late Actor Georgi Partsalev

From June 9, the Bulgarian National Bank will put into circulation a copper commemorative coin themed "100 Years since the Birth of Georgi Partsalev" from the Bulgarian Artists series, the Central Bank said Friday. Partsalev (1925-1989) was a renowned Bulgarian theatre and film actor, recipient of number of honours including the Order of St. Cyril and Methodius first degree - awarded to Bulgarian and foreign citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of culture, art, education and science.

The price of the coin when released into circulation will be BGN 60. The total number of coins produced will be 6,000 pieces. The nominal value of the coin is BGN 2. It is made of solid copper with a purity of 999/1000. It weighs 16.4 grams. Its diameter is 34.2 mm.

The author of the artistic project is Mihaela Kamenova.

This is the second commemorative coin that the Bulgarian National Bank will put into circulation this year, after releasing the silver commemorative coin themed “175 Years since the Birth of Zahari Stoyanov” from the Bulgarian Revival series, in April.
