Bulgarian poet Kristin Dimitrova will represent Bulgaria at the 2023 International Poetry Festival in Bucharest , Dimitrova told BTA.
The festival will take place between September 11-17. A total of 170 poets from 27 countries will participate in the programme with 50 hours of public readings, 15 hours of debates, 13 hours of concerts, 20 hours of films and five hours of theatrical moments.
Bulgarian writer, editor, translator and poet Kristin Dimitrova has won of multiple national awards for literature. Her poems and short stories have been published in anthologies and literary publications in 32 countries around the world and have been translated into 27 languages.
Her books of poetry include Jacob's Thirteenth Child (1992), A Face Under the Ice (1997), Closed Figures (1998), Faces with Twisted Tongues (1998), Talisman Repair (2001) and The People with the Lanterns (2003). She has also published short stories, fiction, screenplays and translations into Bulgarian.
Dimitrova was invited to participate in the festival through the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture. She has previously represented this country in the USA, China, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Turkiye, Sweden, Slovenia, Belgium, Czechia and Switzerland.
