The issue of pollution caused by the blasting of the Nova Kakhovka dam was overexposed and spread as fake news, it was a campaign, Environment and Water Minister Julian Popov told journalists here on Thursday. He stressed that the department strictly monitors the quality of water near this country. The monitoring is continuous, but not because of what happened with "Nova Kakhovka", but for the general safety of citizens and holidaymakers, Popov added.

He specified that the monitoring of water quality has been much more intensive and detailed since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, taking into account all possible risks. "So far, there is nothing alarming", the minister stressed, adding that all the results of the studies are made available to the public.

The Minister of Environment and Water was among the guests at the ceremony marking the 2nd anniversary of Bulgarian naval research ship Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) becoming part of the Varna Naval University.
