Over 125.5 tonnes of food for pets and farm animals in the areas worst hit by the February 6 earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria have been delivered by the Four Paws foundation with the support of local organizations, the Bulgarian office of the global animal welfare organization said Friday. Food for the next two months has been provided for more than 5,000 animals, including cats, dogs, goats, donkeys, cows, and sheep.
A Four Paws team provided medical care to the hurt animals in several shelters and helped transport them to clinics. This was the only international animal welfare organization that managed to provide help on site in Syria.
On the team were Bulgarian vet Marina Ivanova, working at the Austrian office of Four Paws, and Velizar Angelov, International Projects coordinator at the Bulgarian office.
