The Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce held its first annual General Assembly on 15 January, during which the Chamber’s members reviewed their first full year of active operations and outlined the key priorities for the development of Bulgarian-Czech business relations in 2026, the Chamber said here on Friday.
This year, the Chamber’s focus will be on promoting investment, developing tourism, supporting companies in entering new markets, and deepening institutional dialogue between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
In just one year, the Chamber has established itself as a recognisable platform for dialogue between business and institutions, with dozens of high-level meetings, business delegations, bilateral forums and thematic events held in Bulgaria and Czechia, the organisation noted. By the end of 2025, the Chamber brought together nearly 60 members and reported a positive financial result for the year, providing a solid basis for expanding its activities in 2026.
Among the key highlights of the past year were the Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce’s accession to the European Federation of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce – a European federation bringing together bilateral chambers of commerce to promote economic cooperation and investment in Europe, the meeting between the Chamber’s Chairman, Maxim Behar, and the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, in Prague, as well as the organisation of a business forum in Czechia.
"For us, the Chamber is not merely a formal structure, but a working tool for business. Our goal is for companies to find partners, solutions and real support – both in Bulgaria and in Czechia. In 2026, we are planning a series of events and initiatives that will strengthen our role as an active intermediary between business and institutions," Maxim Behar said.
The key initiatives for 2026 were also outlined during the Chamber's General Assembly, including a Bulgarian-Czech Tourism forum, a Bulgarian-Czech business forum, meetings with government representatives, participation in international formats of bilateral chambers of commerce, as well as social and charitable initiatives.
