As a media outlet, the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) has a great desire to support the cause of Bulgarian tourism, BNR Director General Milen Mitev said on Friday. He participated in an event in Plovdiv dedicated to the development of cultural tourism in Bulgaria.

Mitev empashized that Bulgarian tourism is a cause and that BNR is also a kind of cultural institute, which through its musical ensembles also operates on the cultural market and the cultural sphere, therefore understanding many of the problems that every cultural institute in Bulgaria faces daily. In order for tourism to be sustainable, tourists must be satisfied and to return to the country again and again, Mitev noted.

He stated that museums and galleries occupy an important place in Bulgarian tourism as they have developed over the years, have their own history and their own place. "They are something that is here and just waiting to be discovered. Some of you are very popular even now. Others have not yet managed to achieve such popularity, but this is exactly what we in the media could try to achieve together with you - to promote your activities and your achievements better," Mitev pointed out.

He proposed developing a story about Bulgarian museums, in which attention would be paid to the activities of each museum in separate episodes with a video that would be distributed on the Internet and social networks.
