The Davis Cup matches between Bulgaria and Belgium in the 2026 Davis Cup Qualifiers first round will be played at the Kolodruma Hall in Plovdiv in February 2026, Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov said on Thursday. "We expect to fill the hall and support the Bulgarian team," Dimitrov said.

In September, Bulgaria defeated Finland in Plovdiv and qualified for the first time in its history for a qualifier for entry into the Davis Cup World Group.

Dimitrov pointed out that Plovdiv amongst other Bulgarian cities will also host the upcoming European Under-19 Football Championship, as matches will be played at the Hristo Botev Stadium and Lokomotiv Stadium here.

"The opening and final matches will be in Plovdiv and all eight participating teams will also be based in Plovdiv. We hope that in 2028, when Plovdiv applies for the European Capital of Sport, we will have this important event and show the best of our base," the mayor said.
