Dr. Radka Georgieva has been nominated for the Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award in 2025 by the Spain-based Malaga-Bulgaria 2010 Association, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) said here on Tuesday.
“Dr. Radka Georgieva is an inspiring person who has dedicated more than 10 years to the cultural and educational development of the Bulgarian community in Malaga,” the EABA emphasized, adding that she has founded the first Bulgarian dance group in Malaga called Bulgarian Rhythms and organizes the annual Bulgarian Days in Malaga Festival.
“Among Dr. Georgieva’s merits are also the popularization of the Bulgarian language, traditions and literature among children and youth, and most of all the initiative to build a monument to the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, inaugurated in April 2024, which is a symbol of unity and spiritual connection between Bulgarians and Spain," the EABA pointed out.
In October, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
