The New Masters from Kyustendil (Southwestern Bulgaria) will lend their artistic flair to the urban aesthetic of Bosilegrad for the fourth year in a row. "The Walls That Connect Us" is their guiding motif, as young artists reflect creatively while working on the buildings and houses of Bosilegrad.
Artists from The New Masters school of Kyustendil and their teacher, Evgeni Serafimov, will paint another mural in Bosilegrad on August 20-23 at the invitation of the local GLAS Association. This summer's design was crafted entirely by the architect Zivko Hristov. The mural will commemorate the 60th death anniversary of one of Bosilegrad's most distinguished residents, Yordan Zahariev. The mural will be painted on the facade of the central residential building in downtown Bosilegrad.
Zahariev was born in Bosilegrad on March 3, 1877. He was a Bulgarian teacher, ethnographer, geographer and historian, among the best researchers and experts on the Kyustendil region. He became a corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 1937.
"This is yet another wall that will connect us. This latest connection is with times and people for whom education, science and the homeland were the highest virtues," commented GLAS Association President Aleksandar Dimitrov, who is a correspondent of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
The mural will be unveiled on August 23.
