A married couple was killed and six people were injured, including two children, in last night's drone attack in Odessa, the regional governor said.

“Rescuers pulled the bodies of a married couple from the rubble after they were killed in an enemy strike that hit a residential building. Sincere condolences to the family’s loved ones,” Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram. "Two children injured in the Russian attack are currently in medical facilities: a 7-year-old boy in a moderately serious condition and a 3-year-old toddler who inhaled smoke during the fire. Doctors are providing them with the necessary assistance. At this point, four adults are also known to have been injured. All of them have been hospitalized in a moderately serious condition," Kipper added.

Damage has been caused to civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and cars.

The relevant services have been activated to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

The Bulgarian community in the Odesa region numbers over 150,000 people, making it the third-largest ethnic group in the area, according to Ukraine’s 2001 census. Within the city of Odessa itself, an estimated 50,000 to 60,000 ethnic Bulgarians reside. The largest concentrations of Bulgarians are found in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
