Success is built through daily effort and personal responsibility, Bulgarian singer Dara said during the second Bulgaria Across Five Oceans career forum at Inter Expo Center in Sofia on Saturday. The event is organized by the Bulgaria Wants You platform.

She stressed that people shouldn’t see themselves as victims of circumstances and should actively shape their own lives. Dara also highlighted that success depends on an unpredictable audience and urged more mental discipline and positivity, encouraging people to express love rather than negativity. She called for breaking limiting labels and believing that everyone can change their path.

Music producer Stanislava "Sanya" Armoutlieva added that consistency is what drives success, noting it took Dara around 10 years of work to achieve her breakthrough moment. Both emphasized self-belief, persistence, and the need for artists to avoid being boxed into clichés. Looking ahead, Armoutlieva envisioned Bulgaria with better governance, stronger culture and education, returning young people from abroad, and greater respect for creative industries. She also expressed hope that culture will have a more central role in society and that more young people will pursue the arts.

Dara concluded that she wants to open the door for Bulgarian music internationally, breaking barriers to global stages. Her song Bangaranga won the Eurovision Song Contest and reached #90 on the Billboard Global 200 chart.

The event again brings together Bulgarians from the country and abroad, leading companies, visionaries and opinion leaders to present real opportunities for building a career and a life in Bulgaria, the platform told BTA earlier.

BTA is hosting its own booth at the career forum for the second year running. This year, BTA will spotlight BTA School, its internship and career development unit.

The media partners of Bulgaria Across Five Oceans are Nova Broadcasting Group, Darik Radio and BTA.
