Bulgaria is not the only country facing a possible excessive deficit procedure, President Iliana Iotova told reporters on Saturday.

Bulgaria is not the only country facing a possible excessive deficit procedure, President Iliana Iotova told reporters on Saturday.

The European Commission is expected to publish a report on June 3 that would launch the procedure against Bulgaria. “Once we see the European Commission’s arguments and the measures it intends to impose, we will comment,” Iotova said.

Prime Minister Rumen Radev said at the start of a government meeting on Friday that Bulgaria’s deficit was “well above 3%”, which would trigger regular monitoring, restrictive measures and possible sanctions.

Iotova on Saturday opened the Bulgaria on Five Oceans career forum, organized by the Bulgaria Wants You platform, at Inter Expo Center. The forum brings together institutional representatives, prominent public figures and business leaders to present career development opportunities in Bulgaria.
