Bulgaria will assist Belgium as holder of the local Presidency of the EU Council in Chicago in the next six months. Bulgarian Consul General Svetoslav Stankov said: "I want to thank my colleague, Mr Paul M. Van Haltteren, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium, with whom we will work together for a united European community in Chicago and a more visible European Union."
