Our long-term goal must be a sustainable peace in Ukraine, which can only be achieved through close partnership between the European Union, the United States, and Ukraine itself. A peace that guarantees the security of Ukrainian citizens, stability in the region, and upholds the values of freedom and democracy. Only through solidarity, consistency, and united efforts can we help Ukraine, said GERB-UDF leader, Boyko Borissov, during a video conference meeting of the leaders of the European People’s Party.

In a Facebook post, Borissov wrote that the meeting was also attended by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, who gave a detailed account of the discussions held during Monday’s meeting between President Zelensky and European leaders with US President Donald Trump in Washington. Together with colleagues, we discussed the next steps toward creating the conditions for a lasting and just peace, added the GERB leader.
