Mountain hiking conditions are not good, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) with the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA on Monday. 

It is raining in the resorts of Borovets and Pamporovo, as well as in the Central Balkan Mountains, with rain having started overnight in some places.

Over the past 24 hours, a team from MRS Blagoevgrad has helped a foreign tourist with a leg injury in the area of the Stobskite piramidi.

The mountain weather forecast by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology: Cumulus clouds will form. There will be short rain showers and thunder in many places, intensive over the mountains in Southwest Bulgaria and the Central Balkan Mountains. Hailstorms are possible. Light to moderate north-northeasterly wind. Westerly-northwesterly on mountain tops. Highs: around 18C at 1,200 metres, around 12C at 2,000 metres.
