site.btaInfrastructure Upgrade of Ruse’s LVZ Industrial Park Kicks Off with BGN 33 Mln Project

The upgrade of the infrastructure of the LVZ Industrial Park in Ruse began with an official ceremony on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by Ruse Mayor Pencho Milkov and his deputies Zdravka Velikova and Zlatomira Stefanova, Ruse Regional Governor Dragomir Draganov and his deputy Georgi Georgiev, Bulmarket Group CEO Momchil Boyadzhiev and LVZ Industrial Park Manager Spasimir Dimitrov.
The initial phase of the project for reconstructing, upgrading, and developing new technical infrastructure to and from the Industrial Park will be carried out in collaboration with Ruse Municipality. The plan includes building a new parking lot and street network, ensuring direct access to the Danube Bridge Border Checkpoint near Ruse. Construction of a bicycle parking area and a new pedestrian and bicycle pathway is also planned.
The second phase of the project involves the design and construction of technical infrastructure and facilities within the LVZ Industrial Park. Bulmarket Group reports that private investment in the zone currently exceeds BGN 80 million, noting that the project covers more than 40,000 sq. m. The aim is to revive the production and repair of wagons and locomotives in Ruse, a tradition that began in 1866 as the first of its kind in Bulgaria. By upgrading its facilities, Bulmarket expects to address current European market requirements for train maintenance and repair.
The project for the reconstructing, upgrading, and developing of the infrastructure was ranked first in the procedure for the development of industrial zones and parks in Bulgaria in 2024 by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with approved funding of BGN 26 million from the Innovation and Growth Ministry. The project’s implementation also involves an additional contribution of nearly BGN 7 million from Bulmarket’s own funds.
