Princess Takamado, a member of Japan’s Imperial Family, visited the Bulgarian Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, on June 28, 2025, according to a statement by the Bulgarian Embassy in Japan, published on the website of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Accompanied by Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Japan, Marieta Arabadjieva, and Georgi Kostov, Director of the Bulgarian Pavilion, Princess Takamado explored an interactive showcase that highlighted Bulgaria’s beautiful nature, rich cultural heritage, and modern achievements in innovation and technology, the embassy reported.

During her visit, Princess Takamado also met Lacto-Chan – Bulgaria’s official mascot for Expo 2025 in Osaka.

The Bulgarian Pavilion was officially inaugurated on the opening day of the exhibition, April 13. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev, Ambassador Arabadjieva, and Boyko Takov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency.

Bulgaria’s pavilion is located near one of the main entrances, between the pavilions of Singapore and the Netherlands.
