President Rumen Radev will pay an official visit to Japan from May 18 to 21, where he will visit the EXPO 2025 in Osaka and hold top-level meetings in Tokyo. Radev’s delegation will include representatives of Bulgarian companies and organizations with activities in industry, high technology, science, innovation and the automotive sector. The President will also be accompanied by his wife, Desislava Radeva, his press secretariat said Thursday.
In Osaka, the Head of State will take part in the official ceremony on Bulgaria Day at EXPO 2025 (May 18), where 165 countries and regions and 9 international organizations are presenting their cultures, ideas and innovations in about 180 pavilions. The central theme of the current edition of the international event is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, with interactive exhibitions, demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics, presentations of sustainable and innovative solutions in the fields of architecture, energy and healthcare, smart city exhibitions and more. The forum opened in April and will run until October, with nearly 30 million people expected to attend.
The President will visit the Bulgarian Pavilion at EXPO 2025, which showcases Bulgaria's scientific, economic and tourism potential.
The Head of State will have an audience with Emperor Naruhito in Tokyo and will sign with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba a Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Japan.
