Bulgaria’s Nikola Tsolov became the first ever driver to achieve five FIA Formula 3 wins after taking a light-to-flag victory at the Monte Carlo feature race on Sunday, FIAformula3.com reported.

Starting on pole, the Campos Racing driver made a great start before going on to win by over seven seconds. Polish-British driver Roman Bilinski finished second for Rodin Motorsport, while Tsolov’s Campos teammate Mari Boya of Spain joined him on the podium in third.

This was the second Monte Carlo win in the career of the 18-year-old Bulgarian. In 2024, he claimed his maiden Formula 3 victory in a sprint race on the same circuit.

Tsolov finished the 27 laps on Sunday in 42:16.874 min.

The leader in the world ranking, Rafael Camara of Brazil, did not earn any points in the race and his lead at the top shrank. Camara’s overall score in the world ranking is 77 points. He is followed by Germany’s Tim Tramnitz in second place, 13 points behind Camara. After his win in Monte Carlo, Tsolov is third in the world ranking, 16 points behind the Brazilian.

The next Formula 3 race will be held in Barcelona next week.
