Ten Bulgarian athletes will compete on Sunday, the second competition day following the official opening of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Bulgaria’s participation in the fight for medals will be opened by alpine snowboarders Radoslav Yankov, Tervel Zamfirov, Alezander Krashniak and Malena Zamfirova. Qualifications in the parallel giant slalom begin at 10:00 am CET, with the top 16 athletes in both the men’s and women’s events advancing to the knockout finals starting at 2:00 pm.

At 1:30 pm, cross-country skiers Daniel Peshkov and Mario Matikanov will make their Olympic debuts in the men’s 10+10 km skiathlon in Tesero.

After 1:05 pm, Bulgaria’s mixed biathlon relay team will start in the 4x6 km event in Antholz-Anterselva. The Bulgarian quartet consists of Blagoy Todev, Vladimir Iliev, Lora Hristova and Milena Todorova.

Iliev, who is scheduled to ski the second leg, will make his fifth Olympic appearance, equaling the national record held by Bulgaria’s legendary short track speed skater Evgenia Radanova.

In addition to the three sports featuring Bulgarian athletes, four more sets of medals will be awarded on Sunday: in women’s alpine skiing downhill, men’s 5,000 metres speed skating, men’s singles luge, and the team event in figure skating.

The programme also includes matches from the Olympic tournaments in curling and ice hockey.
