The government must take measures to prepare for potential a migrant wave, Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria MP and Yes, Bulgaria Co-chair Ivaylo Mirchev said, after the Security Council meeting at the Council of Ministers on Thursday. He added that so far there are no indications of migrant waves.

The state must plan for specific economic measures in connection with the rise in oil prices, Mirchev added. “We must be ready with such measures, even though we do not know how long the conflict will last,” he said.

According to him, the Security Council was quite specific, and all questions had been answered. The reports from the special services, as well as those of the ministers, were adequate. At this stage, there is no direct threat for Bulgaria, but there are quite a few measures that need to be taken, he added.

Mirchev said that caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov's decision to leave Atanas Zapryanov as caretaker defence minister was a wise one in the context of the geopolitical situation.
