At the moment all graduates in tourism have a unique chance to rise quickly in the sector due to the shortage of staff, said in Varna Monday the caretaker Minister of Tourism, Ilin Dimitrov. He was a guest at the promotion of Class of 2023 of the College of Tourism at the University of Economics in the city. He added that anyone who has some training and skills very quickly reaches managerial positions in tourism.

According to him, very few graduates of the hospitality sector go abroad to work.

He was adamant that without good secondary and higher education, there can be no quality tourism.

According to the minister, tourism is perhaps the sector where people will be the last to be "knocked out" by artificial intelligence, while AI can be used to inform, market, and support certain activities.

The Director of the College of Tourism at the University of Economics in Varna Assoc. Pfor. Genka Rafailova told BTA that a total of 93 students from the two majors "Tourism and Leisure Management" and "Hotel and Restaurant Management" are graduating this year.

Among the graduates are five Ukrainians who are studying under a decree of the Council of Ministers and are outside the quota.
