Bulgaria strongly condemns the ongoing unprovoked and indiscriminate Iranian attacks against its neighbours in the Persian Gulf and Middle East region and calls for their immediate cessation, the Foreign Ministry in Sofia reported on Friday. This position was expressed by Bulgaria during the EU-GCC Ministerial Meeting on March 5, 2026, as well as in a series of telephone conversations Minister Nadezhda Neynsky had with counterparts from the region.

"We stand in solidarity with our partners in the region, who are demonstrating restraint at this extremely critical moment. We extend our gratitude for the efforts of the authorities in these countries to ensure the safety of Bulgarian citizens in their countries, as well as for the assistance provided in the evacuation process," the statement concluded.
