Sofia University will host an exhibition of cartoons and the presentation of the collection A Time to Cry, A Time to Laugh, with illustrated aphorisms by Boris Dimovski. The event, organized jointly with the Bulgarian Memory Foundation, is dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the artist, the university's press centre announced.

The official opening of the exhibition is on March 9, in the central foyer of the Rectorate building of St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia University, where the works will be exhibited until March 14.

Boris Dimovski's Cartoons exhibition is a retrospective presentation of Bulgaria's great artist in the field of 20th-century cartoons. The works created by Boris Dimovski's pen and brush have left a deep mark on the spiritual palette not only of Bulgaria but also of European and world culture, Sofia University's announcement said.

Boris Dimovski's caricatures are a vivid reflection of Bulgaria's multifaceted social, political, and cultural life. Political satire, national identity, and caricature are analyzed and reinterpreted through the eyes of this great artist.

"Dimovski's characters touch us with their universal drama and primal worldview, always dignified, deeply humane, and warm-hearted, depicting the artist's philosophy of human wisdom and folly, spiritual identity, and cultural universality," the announcement said.
