site.btaPresident Decrees Change of Regional Development Minister
Acting under Article 99, paragraph 5 of the Constitution, President Iliana Iotova signed a decree relieving Angelina Boneva of her duties as caretaker Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. Under the same decree, Iotova appointed Nikolay Naydenov to the post, the presidential press service said on Friday.
On Wednesday Boneva submitted her resignation to caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov, citing health reasons.
Earlier on Friday, the Prime Minister said that Boneva had personally requested to be relieved of her post.
On February 24, Nikolay Naydenov was appointed caretaker Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. Earlier, he served as deputy minister in 2023 and 2024.
He has long worked as a lecturer in cartography and GIS at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia. Naydenov has extensive professional experience in investment design and spatial planning. By education, he is a geodesy engineer and holds a PhD in Cartography from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy.
