site.btaPM Appoints Kalina Milusheva as Bulgarian Food Safety Agency Executive Director

By order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Kalina Milusheva has been appointed Executive Director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA), the Council of Ministers said on Monday.

Since 2024, Milusheva has served as Director of the Blagoevgrad Regional Food Safety Directorate. She has long-standing professional experience within the BFSA system, having started in 2011 as an inspector in the Food Control Department of the Blagoevgrad Regional Food Safety Directorate, which she has headed since 2015.

Milusheva holds two master’s degrees – in veterinary medicine and in sanitary microbiology and food safety – obtained at Trakia University in Stara Zagora.

She was appointed to the post following the sudden death on November 2 of the BFSA Executive Director Svetlozar Patarinski.
