Maria Ilieva - Yordanova has been appointed Executive Director of the Bulgarian Accreditation Service Executive Agency (BASEA) by order of the Economy and Industry Minister, the Ministry said on Monday.
She is a highly qualified specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of metrology, technical supervision, accreditation, and conformity assessment, the Ministry's press release added.
Maria Ilieva - Yordanova is an engineer and a graduate of the Technical University of Sofia, where she specialized in metrological assurance. Her professional career includes many years of work at the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance, as well as at the Bulgarian Accreditation Service Executive Agency, where she made key contributions to the accreditation and oversight of conformity assessment bodies. As a lead assessor, she has taken part in conducting more than 400 on-site assessments.
The newly appointed BASEA Executive Director has extensive experience in applying European and national legislation in the field of accreditation and technical requirements for products. She has completed numerous specialized trainings in quality management, auditing, European regulations, and accreditation systems, the press release said.
Until now, the Bulgarian Accreditation Service Executive Agency was headed by Irena Borislavova.
