The Bulgarian national biathletes had a rest day Thursday, three days before the start of the Olympic biathlon programme on February 8 at the Milano Cortina Games. Only Valentina Dimitrova held a training session, on her own initiative, at the stadium in Antholz/Anterselva.

The Bulgarian team’s wax technicians Fausto Bormetti, Federico Maiori, and Roberto Garcia also tested the course.

The good news from the Bulgarian camp is that all athletes are healthy and in good functional condition.

The first start from the Olympic biathlon program will be the mixed relay 4 x 6 kilometers on Sunday. The composition of the Bulgarian quartet of two men and two women is expected to be determined later on Thursday, when a meeting of the coaching staff and athletes will be held.

Before that, on February 6, some of the national biathletes will take part in the parade of nations at the official opening of the Winter Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo, where the flag bearer of the Bulgarian delegation will be the leader of the men’s team, Vladimir Iliev.
