A mechanized company and a self-propelled mortar battery from the 38th Mechanized Battalion of the 2nd Tundzha Mechanized Brigade, together with units from the NATO Multinational Battle Group in Bulgaria, conducted a tactical exercise at the Koren training range on November 23-24. In addition to personnel from the Bulgarian Land Forces, the exercise included a mechanized company from the Turkish Armed Forces and an infantry platoon from the Italian Armed Forces, the Defence Ministry said on Monday.
The exercise allowed senior staff to improve their skills in planning and conducting operations, as well as to enhance coordination and operational interoperability with coalition units.
The tactical exercise at the Koren range is part of the units’ preparation for the Stone Wall 25 exercise of the NATO Multinational Battle Group in Bulgaria.
Stone Wall 25 is conducted under the command of the Italian Pinerolo Brigade. It involves military units from the Multinational Battle Group from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, and Turkiye. The purpose of the joint training is to enhance the operational interoperability of allied forces and to demonstrate their unity and cohesion.
