The Industrial Production Index in Bulgaria increased by 3.3% in September 2025 compared to the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) announced on its website on Monday.
In comparison to September 2024, a decline of 5.5% was registered in the calendar-adjusted Industrial Production Index, according to the data.
In September 2025, compared to the previous month, a 21.6%, increase was seen in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and 2.9% in manufacturing, while a 3.7% decline was registered in the mining and quarrying industry.
A significant rise was reported in the manufacture of other transport equipment - 34.0%, the manufacture of tobacco products - 18.2%, and the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products - 16.0%.
A decrease was registered in the manufacture of textiles - 13.8%, and the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products - 6.6%.
On an annual basis, a drop of the Industrial Production Index was observed in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 24.7%, the mining and quarrying industry - 19.0%, while an increase was registered in manufacturing - 0.2%.
In the manufacturing industry, a significant rise in production, compared to the same month of the previous year, was seen in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products - by 30.4%, the manufacture of tobacco products - 27.1%, in the manufacture of furniture - 25.1%, and in other manufacturing - 24.4%.
A decline was reported in the manufacture of textiles - 38.4%, and the manufacture of paper and paper products - 25.6%, the NSI reports.
