The Inspectorate to the Supreme Judicial Council reviewed 4,236 annual asset and interest declarations for 2024 submitted by judges, prosecutors, and investigators. Discrepancies between the declared information and the data received were found in 278 cases, the Inspectorate said on its website Monday. Those who submitted the declarations now have 14 days to correct any omissions or errors.
By Monday, 219 corrective declarations had been submitted, in which the discrepancies were resolved.
A total of 9,530 individuals were effectively checked, including the balances of their bank accounts as of December 31, 2024. The review covered the accuracy of the declared assets of judges, prosecutors and investigators, as well as those of their spouses or partners with whom they live in cohabitation, and their minor children. During the checks, the declared facts were compared with information obtained from the registers in which such circumstances are subject to entry, publication or certification, the statement said.
