Svetla Kjoseva, a Hungary-based translator and editor-in-chief of the bilingual magazine on culture and social life Hemus, is among the recipients of the Baumgarten honorary award for 2026, the Bulgarian School and Kindergarten in Budapest announced on its Facebook page.

“On behalf of our school team, we warmly congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition. Svetla Kjoseva has long served as director of the school and as chair of the Education Commission of the Bulgarian Republican Self-Government,” the school said.

The award is presented in recognition of her work as a researcher and translator, contributing to literary criticism and the presentation of Hungarian literature in the Bulgarian cultural context.

“We wish her health, inspiration, and many more reasons for joy!” the school added.

Ferenc Baumgarten (Ferenc Baumgarten Ferdinand, 1880–1927) was a Hungarian literary and theatre critic who, through his legacy, established a foundation and created the renowned Baumgarten literary prize, intended to support and honor Hungarian writers.
