site.btaGERB Leader Borissov: Bulgaria and Germany Developing Excellent Bilateral Ties

GERB Floor Leader Boyko Borissov wrote on social media on Monday that the excellent bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Germany are steadily developing in political, economic, and trade terms. He noted that he met with David Preisendanz, a member of the German Bundestag, at GERB headquarters on Monday to discuss future prospects for partnership. Borissov added that Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes, the head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation office in Bulgaria, was also present.

Borissov added that Germany remains Bulgaria's leading partner and that cooperation between the two countries continues to expand through investments, technologies, and joint initiatives that bring real results and open up new opportunities.

The GERB leader noted that Bulgaria and Germany share the understanding that the European perspective of the Balkan countries, Ukraine, and Moldova, as well as the strengthening of Europe's defence capabilities, are key to the stability of this region. Borissov put an emphasis on the importance of closer cooperation within the EU and NATO, from modernizing the armed forces to developing joint projects and enhancing operational compatibility.
