The European Commission Monday announced approving 70 projects worth over EUR 600 million under its Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility 2. Bulgaria is involved in two of the approved proposals.

The first project aims at the deployment of 88 recharging points with a minimum power output of 150kW each for LDV and 87 recharging points with a minimum power output of 350kW each for HDV in 25 locations in Romania and Bulgaria.

The aim of the second project is to build along the TEN-T road network 182 Recharging Points for Light-Duty Vehicles and 32 Recharging Points for Heavy-Duty Vehicles, all located within 3 km of the AFIF eligible network. The recharging points will be located on 43 recharging pools: 7 in Croatia, 23 in Bulgaria and 13 in Poland.
